Century Oil and Gas Development Plan

Verdad Resources is proposing a 22 well horizontal drilling project called the Century Pad, located south of Weld County Road 74 (Harmony Road), extending from South County Road 5 past County Road 15 near Windsor, Colorado. The proposed 18-acre surface pad is in unincorporated Weld County, but the proposed Oil and Gas Development Plan (OGDP) intends to extract minerals from both Weld and Larimer Counties in a 3,000-acre drilling and spacing unit (DSU), shown in a dashed red outline in the map above.

There are 10 existing residential building units (RBUs) within 2,000 ft of the proposed pad, which triggers additional requirements for Weld County; Verdad must submit additional noise, dust, and odor mitigation plans, and must conduct a baseline ambient noise survey.

As of August 5, 2026, Weld County has deemed the Century application complete; a hearing with the Weld County Commissioners is currently scheduled for October 1, 2026. If the drilling project is approved by the Weld County Commissioners, Verdad will file with the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) for a state-level permit, which typically takes 12 to 24 months. Verdad currently plans to begin construction at the Century pad in February 2027, which seems unlikely given the normal ECMC approval process timelines.
